Benefit cap changes in detail

The changes to the benefit cap will start to take place from autumn 2016. Most of Great Britain, including East Sussex, will be included within this round of changes.

In our area the level will be reducing to £20,000 for both couples (with or without children) and lone parents, and £13,400 for single people without children.

There are a number of exemptions to the benefit cap. Further information can be found on the GOV.UK website.
