Special educational needs (SEN) support

1. Identifying special educational needs

All children and young people should have high quality teaching, adjusted to meet their individual needs. If a child is not making progress with this support they may have special educational needs.

Nurseries, schools and colleges should regularly assess all children and young people so that they can see who has special educational needs as early as possible.

If you think your child has special educational needs, talk to their teacher or the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) at their nursery, school or college.
