Annual Reviews

3. What happens after the annual review meeting

After the meeting the local authority will make a decision to:

  • Keep the plan the same
  • Change any part of the plan
  • Stop the plan.

We will send a proposed amended statement or EHC plan to the parent, and to the young person if they are 16 or over. They will have 15 days to give their views, and to say what education placement they want. They can also ask for a meeting.

We will do our best to name the education placement you want in the EHC plan but this will not always be possible. See Asking for a school or college for more information.

We must finish the annual review process no more than a year after the EHC plan was issued, or within a year of finishing the last annual review.

If you do not agree with the final plan, you can appeal.
