Help with exams

Children with special educational needs or disabilities may get support when taking exams. This is so they can complete tests and exams on an equal basis with others. Access arrangements or reasonable adjustments might include:

  • someone to write down their answers
  • someone to read the questions
  • electronic equipment
  • extra time

You must contact your school or college well before the deadline for applying for access arrangements.

Search GOV.UK for guidance on access arrangements at:

  • Key Stage 1,
  • Key Stage 2,
  • GCSE and
  • A level.
