How to find parenting and family support
Parent Information Contacts (PICs) provide advice and vital information to families. They direct to services that can help.
To find your PIC, ask your school, children’s centre, library or the Customer Relations Team.
Become a PIC
You need to be:
- appointed by an organisation that helps East Sussex families
- enthusiastic
- a good communicator
- organised
- confident online
Building resilience – Signposting Courses
We offer training courses for front line staff working with families that covers:
- sources of information and support
- listening skills
- types of referrals
- how to let families know you can help
It’s also a chance to network with people from other organisations.
We’ll then provide regular email updates. Some areas have PICs who meet to share ideas.
