What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It alerts you when new information is added to a website. As your chosen sites are updated, your RSS software can alert you, and collects the new material ready for you to read. It lets you read headlines from many different websites, listed and organised in one place. You simply click on the headline to go to that web page.

On your favourite websites, look for the bright orange button or links marked 'RSS'. Follow your news reader's instructions to subscribe. (For many popular news readers, you can simply drag the orange button into the correct part of your screen to begin the process).
