Press release: National quality mark for Trading Standards

Wednesday 17 March 2010

When it comes to consumer issues, residents and businesses in East Sussex receive top quality legal advice.

That's the message from the Legal Services Commission after it awarded East Sussex County Council's Trading Standards Team a Quality Legal Mark.

The Commission has awarded the Legal Mark in recognition of the high quality legal advice that Trading Standards gives to residents and businesses across East Sussex. The Commission also highlighted Trading Standards commitment to continuous improvement.

The Legal Services Commission assessment looked at the overall planning and delivery of the Trading Standards service, delving into case files, client information and feedback from customers to check the quality of the service on offer.

Trading Standards has also received the nationally-recognised Customer Service Excellence accreditation for its commitment to monitoring and improving customer care.

Councillor Bob Tidy, Lead Member for Community Services at the County Council, said: “It is always very pleasing to receive an official thumbs-up – in this case from the Legal Services Commission – for the high quality services that our Trading Standards team provides. The Quality Legal Mark will help to reassure people that they will receive the best possible legal advice and customer service.”
