Have your say on traffic calming in Parkstone Road, Hastings

Monday 23 June 2008

People living in Hastings are being asked for their views about traffic calming plans for Parkstone Road.

East Sussex County Council is holding an exhibition of the plans to reduce the speed of traffic along the road. The council hopes residents will take the opportunity to look at the plans, discuss them with council officers and give their views.

The scheme includes:

  • a staggered Puffin pedestrian crossing on St Helen’s Road near to the junction with Parkstone Road
  • a Puffin crossing outside William Parker school
  • a Zebra crossing outside Parkstone Parade
  • vehicle activated signs to warn drivers exceeding the speed limit.

The exhibition will take place at William Parker Sports College on:

  • Friday 4 July, 4pm-7pm
  • Saturday 5 July, 10am-1pm.

Letters will be delivered to residents in the immediate area giving details of the proposals. Plans are also available in our current consultations section, or can be viewed at Hastings Town Hall.

Residents can send in their views on the scheme by either attending the exhibition or by sending a completed questionnaire to our freepost address:
