Bexhill Library to re-open

Tuesday 29 April 2008

Bexhill Library re-opens its doors to customers on Saturday 3 May after the completion of major improvement and refurbishment works.

Access to the library has been improved with a new entrance with automatic doors. The library has a totally refurbished ground floor, toilet and baby changing facilities and a new lift. The layout has been greatly improved to give a welcoming, flexible and modern space.

Customers will also be able to issue, renew and return their library items using self service facilities. Staff will be available to show people how to use the new self service units.

Councillor Bob Tidy, Lead Member for Community Services at the County Council, said: “The new entrance and lift will make it easier for all our customers to access the library and the refurbishment work will create a more modern and comfortable environment for our customers. We are improving the internal layout, installing new lighting, upgrading the heating system, painting and decorating, re-carpeting and providing a new enquiry point and flexible shelving."

If you have any questions about the work you can telephone the library on 01424 212546. To find out more about the library see our Bexhill library page.
