The new buildings will be officially opened on 24 January at 3pm by Councillor Meg Stroude, East Sussex County Council’s Lead Member for Children and Families, and blessed by Bishop Jupp, who will join staff, pupils, local headteachers, governors, local councillors, and County Council representatives.
The new extension, which opened in September 2006, has provided Peasmarsh children with two new classrooms, two group rooms, a large hall, a library and an art room as well as Children’s Centre for the under fives in an adjoining building. These resources will eventually be open for use by the wider community and surrounding villages.
Councillor Meg Stroude said: “I am delighted to be here to see the improved learning opportunities for these children. The school has benefited from much larger learning spaces, increased ICT resources, a more effective and efficient administration area as well as a permanent base for pre-school activities and day care. This can only aid the children’s education and learning.”
