The walk is the first of many events looking at local landscape, wildlife and history. From wine-tasting to moth-trapping, ‘Exploring East Sussex’ offers something to appeal to everyone, regardless of their age or interests.
The Launch Walk takes place on Friday 28 April and is led by Geoffrey Mead, a lecturer in Landscape Studies at Sussex University. He will be sharing his knowledge of the valleys which are a classic example of the local landscape.
Exploring East Sussex should encourage more people to get out and enjoy the countryside and regular walking is a good way for people to improve their health.
Exploring East Sussex can be found in East Sussex libraries, tourist information centres, council offices and many other public outlets. It can be downloaded from our page on country walks.
A separate programme of guided cycle rides called ‘Cycling East Sussex’ is also available from East Sussex libraries, tourist information centres and bike shops. This can be downloaded from our cycling pages.
For more information about these programmes please call Vicky Pannell, Walks & Rides Coordinator on 01273 481654
