On Saturday 6 May, the Library in Coppice Avenue, Lower Willingdon will be holding a variety of events including storytelling (2pm and 3pm), a library treasure hunt, competitions and Internet taster sessions. The day starts at 9.30am and finishes at 4.00pm.
East Sussex County Council library managers have organised the event for the local community to come and find out what their library can offer them. People can borrow books, DVDs, videos and books on cassette or CD. Residents can also use the People’s Network computers free of charge.
The fun day will also provide the opportunity for residents to join ‘WORMS’ – the Willingdon Library Reading Group – or the Friends of Willingdon Library. And people in the area who find it difficult to get out and about easily can telephone 01323 482534 to discover how the library can come to them.
Councillor Bob Tidy, Lead Cabinet Member for Community Services at the County Council hopes that local people will go along to the fun day. "If you haven’t been to Willingdon Library for some time then the event on May 6 will be a great opportunity to see what it has to offer,” said Councillor Tidy. "We recently completed some maintenance work at the library ahead of schedule and so we are now up and running and open for business again”.
