‘Trickster’ the musical is a play about how to deal with dodgy doorstep dealers and will be performed free of charge by a theatre group at the Memorial Hall at Battle on Wednesday 26 April at 10am.
East Sussex County Council’s Trading Standards Service and the Safer Rother Partnership have organised the production, which is primarily aimed at older people – the main target for bogus callers.
Councillor Bob Tidy, Lead Member for Community Services at the County Council, said: "This free production is a light hearted approach to a serious problem. People attending the event at the Memorial Hall will learn about the tricks that bogus callers use to try to deceive householders. I am delighted that our Trading Standards Service is supporting this event as it reflects the County Council’s priority to help protect vulnerable consumers.”
The performance lasts just under two hours which includes a break for refreshments. Trading Standards and other agencies will be present to give advice and information and to answer any questions on the issue.
For further information and for tickets to this free event, please call Trading Standards on Eastbourne 01323 418228 or email: trading.standards@eastsussex.gov.uk.
