Hailsham Library to re-open

Monday 27 February 2006

People in the Hailsham area will soon be able to use their newly refurbished library following the completion of a £215,000 scheme to improve access and facilities.

The East Sussex County Council library, in Western Road, will re-open to the public at 2pm on Monday 6 March 2006.

Hailsham library now has a new entrance which houses a lift giving everyone easy access to the upper floor. The library has been brightly decorated and has new shelving and furniture. Library customers will also have more new books, on top of the £20,000 worth of new stock bought for the library during the year.

Work started on the improvement scheme just before Christmas, and during the closure library users were offered alternative arrangements, including the use of a temporary building in the library grounds.
