Traffic plans for North Trade Road, Battle

Wednesday 18 January 2006

Residents are being asked for their views on plans to reinforce a 30mph speed limit along North Trade Road, Battle.

The traffic calming proposals aim to reduce traffic speed, make drivers more aware of the college and make the road safer for pedestrians by introducing a signal controlled puffin crossing.

Details of the proposals are being delivered to residents and an exhibition is being held on Friday 27 January from 12.30pm to 7pm and on Saturday 28 January from 10am to 2pm at the Youth Centre, 6 London Road, Battle. Council officers will be on hand to discuss the proposals and answer queries.

If local people support the proposals, and subject to funding being available, the scheme could be introduced in 2006/07.

The plans will be available in our current consultations pages, at Battle Town Council offices and at the Battle Community Help and Advice Centre in Market Square, after the exhibition has taken place. The consultation will run until 10 February.
