Two free seminars are being organised in November by East Sussex County Council’s Broadband East Sussex partnership, in conjunction with Tourism East Sussex, as part of a campaign to help different sectors of industry and commerce understand how they can use the power of broadband technology to improve efficiency and profitability.
Experts from Academy Internet, based in Brighton, will be demonstrating ways in which e-tourism can pep up business performance.
Hoteliers, bed and breakfast and guest house owners, and people running tourist attractions will be able to find out how they can use the Internet to win new customers, add value to existing customers and build repeat business.
The ‘Get Smart With E-Tourism’ events are at the White Rock Hotel, Hastings, on 24 November and the Ashdown Forest Llama Park, Wych Cross, near Forest Row, on 30 November.
Two separate sessions will be held for accommodation providers and tourist attractions, the former from 12 noon to 3pm and the latter from 5pm to 8pm. A free buffet lunch or supper will be included.
Councillor Bob Tidy, lead member for e-government at East Sussex County Council, said: "These events represent a wonderful opportunity for firms involved in the tourism sector to get invaluable advice from leading experts in the field of Internet marketing.
"E-tourism is set to play an increasingly important part in attracting customers, improving customer service and increasing business efficiency. It’s vital that our tourism businesses understand the techniques that will make them more successful.”
Academy Internet is Europe’s leading provider of e-business training, consulting and e-learning solutions.
Because the seminars are free, demand is certain to be great. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
