An experienced teacher and leader, Lynton Golds has an impressive track record – this appointment will be her third as headteacher. Cleve School, an 11–18 school similar in size to Seaford Head, has attained high academic achievement under her leadership, and Lynton also has prior experience taking a school out of serious weakness within a short space of time. She is likely to start January 2006, or earlier if possible.
Robert Brandley, Chair of Governors, said: ” We are delighted Lynton has agreed to this appointment. Throughout our rigorous recruitment process, Lynton clearly demonstrated her creativity, leadership and focus, and we are fortunate to attract her to the college. We have every confidence she will work hard to restore pride to the college.”
Matt Dunkley, Director of Children’s Services at East Sussex County Council, said: "This is really good news for Seaford Head. Lynton has a wealth of experience in raising standards, which will be invaluable at building on the progress already made by acting Principal Fiona Wright. She has a deep commitment to working with parents, staff and governors and will prove a great asset to Seaford Head.”
