The front of the library will be given a fresh new look and the interior completely refitted and redecorated. A lift will be installed to improve access for people with disabilities and a Community Help Point put in, providing free access to information about public services.
The library will be closed from Wednesday 3 August for 11 weeks to carry out the work. During this time customers can use any East Sussex library to return, renew or take out books, and to access the Internet. Items can be renewed by phone or through our E-library.
There will also be a limited library service from a temporary portacabin building in Wealden District Council car park. This will operate from Monday 8 August until Saturday 8 October and can be used to return or borrow a small selection of books, DVDs and tapes.
The library is scheduled to re-open on Monday 10 October. For more information about opening times for the temporary building and the progress of the library work visit our Libraries section or phone Heathfield Library on 01435 863975.
