The agreements simplify the number of different funding streams from central government by focussing on a core set of local priorities which means that the money goes where it is most needed with less bureaucracy involved.
In East Sussex this will be an important tool in the work to raise prosperity and community safety across the county.
No extra cash will be available but the system leads to better management and pooling of resources between partner organisations.
By October East Sussex County Council will tell the government which priorities the county wants to focus on and how they will be achieved. The agreement starts in April 2006.
