The school had also requested a zebra crossing outside its buildings but the council has decided to install this during the summer holidays. This is to avoid disrupting the school traffic at drop-off and pick up times. Bus stops nearby will also have to wait.
Contractors hoped to go ahead with the work earlier but a survey of the traffic coming to and from the school showed that it might be hazardous to do it during term time.
