An interactive map, with lists of candidates and electoral divisions, will be on the council’s website on Monday (2 May).
This will give an instant colour-coded snapshot of how the parties are faring as the results are announced on Friday (6 May).
As the divisions are called, the map will show the colour of the successful candidate’s party depicting what is going on overall.
The results themselves will not only list the number of votes for each candidate but will also calculate overall and individual division turnout, and give a running total of seats won by each party. However no swing results will be given as the boundaries of the divisions have changed so much since the last election.
Suzy De Silva, Web Services Manager at the county council, said: "We hope people will find this service both helpful and informative.
"They can use the map beforehand to see who’s standing and where, and then see who the winners are as they’re announced on Friday.”
