A259 Carlisle Parade, Hastings – works to start

Monday 25 October 2004

The first phase of some major refurbishments to the A259 Carlisle Parade in Hastings is to start.

Waterproofing and strengthening of the structure, which carries the A259 over an underground car park, will begin on November 15. The works will prevent further deterioration of the structure which runs along Hastings seafront.

To minimise disruption and delays to both motorists and local businesses, the works have been scheduled during the winter months and should be completed by the middle of March. They have been co-ordinated with other works in Hastings to try and reduce the disruption in the area.

Two lanes will be kept open to traffic at all times. Despite this, however, delays are unavoidable during these works.
