The ‘Buy with Confidence’ scheme provides consumers with peace of mind about the quality of service and customer care given by traders and businesses who are part of the scheme.
Next week over 20 traders and businesses will be among the first to receive the unique seal of approval from Trading Standards at a special ceremony in Uckfield.
The ceremony marks the launch of the scheme which has been piloted in the Eastbourne & Wealden area. From October, businesses and traders from across the rest of the County will also be invited to apply for approval.
Chairman of the County Council, Councillor Daphne Bagshawe, who will be presenting the businesses with their certificates, is delighted to the see the scheme take off.
“Our residents deserve to be able to purchase goods or instruct traders without worrying about whether or not they will be taken for a ride. This scheme means that consumers can use businesses that have been inspected and approved by Trading Standards.
“To give this kind of confidence boost and peace of mind to residents is good news for consumers and traders alike and I am immensely proud of the Trading Standards team which is working closely with businesses to make this happen.”
From Thursday 30 September, consumers who want to search for an approved trader – or nominate a business for approval – can visit www.eastsussex.gov.uk/buywithconfidence or call the Buy With Confidence Team on 01323 418201 / 418215.
