County Council election results
At the last full county council elections in May 2005 the Conservatives maintained control of East Sussex County Council, increasing their number of seats from 24 to 29:
Forty-nine councillors were elected, up from 44 due to boundary changes. Figures in brackets show how many seats were held by each party before the election on 5 May.

Changes to our electoral boundaries were recommended by the Boundary Commission in July 2004. Read more about these changes to county council electoral arrangements.
