Your County is part of our aim to improve the way we keep you informed, and we wanted to hear what you think about the magazine. The Summer 2011 issue included a short survey asking for your views.
Background information
Our free residents' magazine is packed with information about the services we provide for people who live and work in East Sussex. You can also get more news, events and competitions with our free monthly newsletter.
Who took part
We asked anyone who reads our magazine – either in print or on our website – for their views. We got 635 responses by post and 134 via our online survey.
The survey closed on Friday 12 August 2011.
What you told us
- Nearly all respondents (98%) felt that the magazine was easy or very easy to read.
- Most respondents (88%) found the articles useful.
- Just under three quarters (72%) recalled receiving a copy of the magazine twice or more.
- Over three quarters of respondents (83%) felt that 12p per issue of Your County was value for money.
- Over three quarters of respondents (81%) would prefer to receive information about council services in Your County.

What will happen as a result of this consultation
We have included some of these results (how useful the articles are and value for money) in our council-wide annual plan to show how the magazine has performed as a communications tool.
We will carefully consider the results from this survey as part of our ongoing monitoring and development of the magazine, to make sure it meets the needs of its diverse mix of residents.
We have updated the look of the magazine to make it more accessible and attractive to readers. The new look Your County will be sent out to residents in November 2011.
Free prize draw
Readers who completed our survey were automatically included in our free prize draw to win family tickets to the Summer Ice Spectacular at the Congress Theatre in Eastbourne. The winners were:
