We consulted with residents, schools and neighbouring authorities about our plans for school admissions for the academic year 2013-14.
The Department for Education has produced a new School Admissions Code which came into force in February 2012 and requires some changes to admission arrangements from the 2013-14 school year. These are outlined in the proposed admissions arrangements document, at the bottom of this page.
We wanted to know your views on our proposed arrangements for admissions to primary and secondary schools in 2013-14.
Results
Admissions arrangements for primary and secondary maintained (state) and voluntary aided (church) schools for 2013-14 have been agreed.
Background information
You can find the proposed arrangements, along with the admissions numbers, information about co-ordinated and in-year admissions, and the response form at the bottom of this page.
The deadline for comments was Wednesday 29 February 2012.
What happens next?
We considered all comments received and sent a report for approval by the Lead Members:
Admission arrangements for schools that set their own admissions policy
Schools that are their own admission authority may consult on their individual arrangements if they are proposing any changes. Find out more about these schools' admission arrangements for 2013-14.
