Forest Row Library is expanding into the former Reading Room at the Community Centre.
We asked for your views about the opening hours and what services and books you would like to have in the expanded library.
Who took part?
It was important to hear from as many people as possible, whether you use the library or not.
We asked adults to answer all the questions in our survey, and for children and teenagers to tell us about what books and events you'd like in the library.

You could give your views through an online survey, by completing the printable questionnaire below or by visiting your local library.
What you told us
We received 28 responses to our paper and online surveys. You told us:
- your key services are:
- borrowing books
- local history resources
- free access to computers
- staff to help you
- a children's section.
- your preferred opening hours are:
- weekday afternoons
- Saturday morning.
- lots of suggestions for new books.

Actions taken
We've considered your feedback and done our best to focus on the services you prefer. We refurbished the library from August to October 2011, and the expanded library opened on Thursday 6 October.
Our improved services include:
- improving the internal layout
- installing new lighting, painting, decorating and carpeting
- dedicated children's and teen areas
- reference and study areas
- more public access computers
- comfortable seating
- new opening hours – we will now be open on Saturday mornings instead of Tuesday afternoon
- adding many of the books you suggested to our shelves.
