We are developing a Local Broadband Plan to help us achieve superfast broadband for all homes and small businesses in the county. We have been gathering evidence for this plan. Use this ongoing survey to tell us what you have to say about the current state of broadband in East Sussex.
Background information
The Digital Britain Report (2009) identified that large parts of the UK would not get access to superfast broadband from existing suppliers because it would not be commercially viable for them to provide it. East Sussex is an area that is affected by this market failure.
The Government has set aside £530 million to help deliver superfast broadband into areas of market failure. This money is being disbursed by Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) and funding is expected to be available until 2017. BDUK has allocated £10.64 million to the East Sussex and Brighton & Hove area, but funding will only be released once the Local Broadband Plan has been produced and approved.
To ensure that this plan meets the needs of everyone in the county please give us your views.
