Your County is part of our aim to improve the way we keep you informed, and we wanted to hear what you thought about the magazine. The Spring 2010 issue included a short survey asking for views.
Background information
Our free residents' magazine is packed with information about the services we provide for people who live and work in East Sussex. You can also get more news, events and competitions with our free monthly newsletter.
Who took part
We asked anyone who reads our magazine – either in print or on our website – for their views. We received 338 responses by post and 29 via our online survey.
The survey closed on Friday 23 April 2010.
What you told us
The findings from this survey have shown that:
- most (88%) felt that the magazine was easy or very easy to read
- over three quarters (78%) thought the magazine was well designed
- over three quarters (77%) found the articles useful
- just under three quarters (73%) recalled receiving a copy of the magazine at least once in the last 12 months, with over half (57%) recalling receiving it twice or more.
- two thirds (65%) felt that 12p per issue of Your County represented value for money.

What will happen as a result of this consultation
Some of these results (usefulness of articles and value for money) have been included in our council-wide annual plan as a measure of how well the magazine has performed as a communications tool.
The results from this survey will be carefully considered as part of our ongoing monitoring and development of the magazine, to make sure Your County meets the needs of its diverse mix of residents.
