What do you think of our priorities?

On 27 July 2010 our Cabinet considered the annual State of the County report. This detailed document looks at how our priorities will need to change given the national economic outlook.

In an online poll, we asked whether you agree or disagree with these priorities. In brief these are:

  • building the economy and prosperity of East Sussex
  • supporting the most vulnerable people
  • roads and infrastructure
  • community safety.

This survey closed on 5 October 2010.

Further information

For more about the national context and our local priorities please read the extract from the State of the County report below:

Why did we do this?

Because the Council will have less money in future we have to look again at everything we do. We need to make sure that we spend your money on the things that are most important to you. We will review our services to make sure that they help us deliver in these key areas.

What we did as a result of your comments

Our Cabinet considered all of your views when it met on 12 October 2010 – see item 5 'Reconciling Policy and Resources':

They agreed to review the Council's promise and policy steers in the light of the changing national and local circumstances, and to make sure the promise reflects emerging local priorities:

What you have already told us

We have previously asked a representative cross-section of residents about what they think of our priorities. You can find their responses, along with other related consultations, via the links below:
