Draft single equality scheme 2010 – 2013

We asked what you thought about our draft single equality scheme and its action plan. The scheme aims to bring all our work on equality and diversity together in a clear and structured way.

Background information

The Government's Equality Act 2010 brings together six aspects of previous equality legislation into one:

  • age
  • disability
  • gender
  • race
  • religion or belief, and
  • sexual orientation.

Our single equality scheme and action plan shows how we will deal with all these strands of equality in one document.

This consultation closed on 17 September 2010.

Who took part

Anyone could take part by completing a survey online or requesting a paper copy to complete and return by post.

Survey results

We received a low number of responses to our consultation. As a result, we've made the document easier to read, but we haven't made any big changes to the scheme.
