Eastbourne parking review

Consultation results

A summary of the results of this consultation can be downloaded below.

Background information

We wanted to know whether you thought the existing parking scheme in Eastbourne was effective or if changes needed to be made.

In other areas that experience parking problems, we asked whether there is a need for new schemes. This ‘review area' includes Meads, Hampden Park, Rodmill and the area around the District General Hospital.

Controlled parking was introduced in Eastbourne town centre and the seafront in October 2008. We said we would review the scheme after it had been in place for around a year.

By controlling parking, we can reduce dangerous and inconsiderate parking, keep general traffic and buses moving and benefit pedestrians, cyclists and the emergency services.
