Do you travel by bus in Lewes, Hastings, Rother or Wealden?

We reviewed supported local bus services (services which are funded by East Sussex County Council) in the Hastings and Rother areas, including some services in Wealden and Lewes.

We asked for your your views on how the current public and school bus services met the needs of local communities.

Your comments were taken into account and formed part of further consultation in February 2011. See:

Who took part?

We asked for the views of any individual, organisation or group with an interest in this review. We asked for feedback on the review document and views on how the services currently meets the needs of local communities.

Background information

As contracts for the operation of supported local bus services were due to expire in July 2011, we wanted to hear your views before tenders for new contracts were issued.

Changes to services will be considered in the light of:

  • existing use
  • comments from users and other interested parties
  • the budget available
  • the need to ensure best value.

The outcome of the Government Spending Review in October 2010 was also taken into account.

For general information, see our pages about Bus travel in East Sussex.
