The second part of our two-stage consultation about improving support for carers ended on 8 September 2009. If you took part, thank you for your input.
Background to this consultation
Stage one
In January and February 2009 we undertook the first stage of a consultation about carers' needs. Through Care for the Carers and ReThink (two voluntary organisations that provide support for carers in East Sussex) nearly 1,000 carers completed our survey.
You will find two documents with feedback from stage one of the consultation below.
Stage two
In stage two, we offered the public (carers and non-carers alike) the chance to read our plans and comment on them. The questionnaire is available to download below.
We also attended events and went out to several venues across the county over the summer so that we could talk to as many local people as possible, and we held a conference in Eastbourne, hosted by Care for the Carers.
What happened next
We received around 160 completed surveys, and the majority of people who responded understood and agreed with our plans. Lots of people made useful comments which not only helped us improve our strategy but will also help us plan the best way to put the strategy into practice.
After carefully analysing your responses, we have finalised our new strategy. You can download it using the link near the bottom of the page.
