Through October 2009 we asked the views of people who provide social care service, how they thought that social care services should develop in East Sussex.
Who took part?
We particularly invited responses from people who run a social care related community or voluntary organisation, or who run a business which provides social care in any way, or were thinking of doing so.
We wanted to to find out about how businesses might play a future role in a changing social care market, and how we can work together better.
Background information
Under a new Government policy to transform adult social care, people will have more control and say over how their social care funding is spent. This means people will be able to use funding to improve their quality of life. This might be leisure or exercise activities, help around the home or social events.
This new policy, also known as Putting People First, has set out the direction for adult social care over the next ten years and beyond. Every Local Authority is working with partners to transform social care services across the four key areas of Putting People First.
