Have your say on services you'd like provided through schools

Many schools offer services that can help you balance work and family commitments, support children with studies and give youngsters a broader range of experiences and interests.

These services can include:

  • breakfast or after-school clubs
  • making school facilities available to local people so that they can hold their own activities, and
  • access to adult learning.

We asked people with school-aged children to let us know what kind of services should be provided through schools.

Questionnaires were given out through schools from the end of September 2009. These asked a range of questions concerning what kind of childcare provision or other services you use, and about the services you would like to see developed.

People were asked to complete one questionnaire for each child in their care.

The closing date for returning questionnaires was Friday 16 October 2009.

Confidentiality

Names were not asked for. Responses are completely confidential and no information is passed on to a third party.

Results

Results were given to schools in December 2009, and published here in January 2010.

We've summarised the replies received in two ways – as a report for each individual school, but also as an averaged summary of the responses from local school clusters. You can download any of these documents through the pages of pdf files below.

Extended school preferences by parents – averaged results for clusters of local schools

In presenting these results we've divided schools into 22 local areas known as Local Partnership Clusters (LPCs) as follows:

Battle, Bexhill, Chailey, Crowborough, Eastbourne (North, NE or South), Hailsham, Hastings (East or West), Heathfield, Lewes, Newhaven, Peacehaven, Ringmer, Robertsbridge, Rye, Seaford, St Leonard's (North or South), Uckfield, Uplands.
