Hastings federation of Filsham Valley, Hillcrest and The Grove schools

This consultation closed on 20 October 2008.

Results

The three governing bodies are considering the responses received. The final decision on the proposed federation will be decided by the three governing bodies on 2 December. We will publish any results on this page as soon as possible.

The consultation

The proposal is to create a federation between Filsham Valley, Hillcrest and The Grove schools. A federation is a legal agreement allowing the three schools to join together under a single governing body. The governing bodies believe this will help the schools work together and improve results across all three schools.

The schools will work in partnership with school improvement specialists, Ninestiles Plus, led by Sir Dexter Hutt. Ninestiles Plus has been appointed by East Sussex County Council to improve pupil performance across the three schools.

The federation will run until August 2011. It is then proposed that two new academy schools will replace the existing schools. For more information see our page Proposals for Filsham Valley, Hillcrest and The Grove schools in Hastings.
