Reviewing the 2007 Compact – statutory, voluntary and community groups working together
Each year we review the East Sussex Compact. The aim of the annual review is to:
- build awareness of the Compact
- report on events and activities to date
- collect and present evidence of successes and good practice
- collect and present evidence of any bad practice.
We invited you to take part in the review process by requesting your views about:
- how the Compact is working in East Sussex
- the 2007 Compact Action Plan
- the Compact Strategy to 2012.
The Action Plan, Strategy and other information is on our main page about the Compact for East Sussex.
The consultation closed on 31 August 2007.
November 2007 – Launch of the Review
The Compact Annual Review was presented to 100 representatives from the voluntary and community sector and the public sector who came together on 1 November 2007 to launch National Compact Week.
Over half the representatives attending the event felt that working relationships between the two sectors had improved during the last year, with over three quarters expecting improvement in the coming year.
Councillor Bob Lacey OBE, who opened the event, said: “The County Council and our partners are committed to effective working with voluntary organisations. We place huge value on the key role the sector plays locally.”
