Lewes Streets Ahead 2006

In 2002, we held a series of exhibitions called Lewes Streets Ahead and asked for your comments on transport improvements for the town, which included:

• improvements to Cliffe High Street
• a cycleway between Ringmer and Lewes
• improvements for pedestrians using Offham Road.

These schemes have been developed further and we asked for your feedback as part of Lewes Streets Ahead 2006. Exhibitions of the proposals for all the schemes were held in Ringmer and Lewes in July 2006.

This consultation closed on Friday 11 August 2006.

The results were discussed at a meeting of the Lead Member for Transport and Environment on 6 November 2006. You can read a summary of the results in the minutes of that meeting.

Funding for these schemes has been identified and construction started on the Cliffe High Street improvements in July 2007. For more details of this part of the scheme, including access and parking arrangements during the work, please see the Living Cliffe pages in our road schemes section.
