Children and Young People's Plan (CYPP)

The aim of the Children and Young People’s Plan (CYPP) is to support and improve the lives of children and young people, from birth to age 19.

The Children Act 2004 said that all councils with a responsibility for education and children’s social care (known as Children’s Services Authorities) must publish a plan like this before April 2006.

The county council coordinated work with partners through the new East Sussex Children's Trust. The first CYPP for East Sussex brings local and specialist services together, county-wide.

Through the autumn and winter of 2005–06 we asked for your views on the draft plan.

At the same time we asked children and young people for their views on how we can improve their lives. For more information please visit our page calling all young people – make a difference.

This consultation closed on 24 February 2006.

Results of this consultation

The results of this consultation and the views of over 4,000 children and young people have helped to produce the first Children and Young People's Plan for East Sussex.
