Local Public Service Agreement

Since the completion of this consultation in June 2005, East Sussex was selected to undertake a Local Area Agreement (LAA). LAAs are a new Government initiative designed to tackle, in partnership, the top shared priorities of the area.

The East Sussex LAA will be broader in scope than the Local Public Service Agreement (LPSA). It will last three years and will have more targets than the LPSA. Some of these targets will aim to stretch performance just like the LPSA targets. If these more challenging targets are achieved, there will be a financial reward at the end of the three years.

Between July and September 2005 the East Sussex Strategic Partnership held a consultation on the new LAA. Feedback from this LPSA consultation was also taken into account.

Following this consultation, the first draft of the LAA was submitted to the Government Office for the South East (GOSE) at the end of September 2005. It was approved early in 2006. For more details and to download the full document, see our page about the Local Area Agreement.
