Childcare Bill consultation – the County Council's response

The County Council has responded to a national consultation on the future of childcare and early years provision in England.

A ten-year strategy, ‘Choice for parents', sets out a range of measures to improve services for families with young children. It includes better availability, quality and affordability of childcare. Local authorities have a leading role in reshaping services to achieve this.

Below you can download the Government's proposals on implementing the strategy, and our responses to them.

The consultation closed on 7 October 2005 and the results are published below.
