Construction began on a new primary school and Children's Centre in Rye in July 2007. The project had a budget of £6 million and the school opened in September 2008.
Background information
In November and December 2004 we consulted on how primary education in Rye might more closely meet the needs of the area. This work formed part of the county wide Primary Development Review exercise and followed the Rye area review meeting in October 2004.
Our consultation paper ‘The future for Primary Schools in Rye' outlined the options for change. The consultation period ended on Friday 17 December 2004.
A report on the responses to this consultation was presented to Cabinet on 12 January 2005. You can download this report below – The Future for Primary Schools in Rye.
