Major changes were proposed for the Registration Service in England and Wales. The survey on registration of births, marriages and deaths sought your opinions on the proposed changes.
The results of this survey are available to download below. Please note – as people were allowed to select more than one answer to some questions, some percentages add up to more than 100.
Since these results were published, the proposed changes have been rejected by the House of Lords. They will be re-introduced for approval at a later date.
Despite this, East Sussex is committed to improving this service and as a result of the survey our register offices now have more flexible opening hours. To find out exact opening times, contact the individual register offices.
Further information about modernising civil registration is available from the General Register Office.
