Local studies in libraries

During June and July 2004 people using the local studies collections at East Sussex libraries were asked to complete survey forms to tell us what they thought of the service.

Results

  • 85% found what they were looking for on the day of their visit
  • 91% were happy with library opening times
  • 80% of people were using the service for informal reasons rather than study, and 69% had used the local studies collections before
  • 53% had heard of the service via the library, 14% from friends and 10% using the Internet
  • 70% wanted access to more materials on the Internet.
