St Anne's old school site in Lewes

Background

We do not need the St Anne's building and we do not have the resources to improve and maintain it.

The building itself needs a detailed safety investigation. We know that asbestos is present – while it remains undisturbed it's not a hazard, but if it is damaged it could represent a very serious risk.

If the building was to be reused, the asbestos would have to be managed and any damaged material would have to be removed.

What happens next?

Before you decide how you want the site to be used, we are giving you the opportunity to use the site to hold an activity. If you're interested, read our guidance document and complete the application form below.

The Steering Group

This group is led by Lewes residents and organisations, and met for the first time on 20 September 2011. It will be responsible for making sure local people have the chance to develop and deliver ideas and activities for using the grounds of the site.
