My politics: Councillor Peter Jones

Councillor Peter Jones

Party: Conservative

Division: Northern Rother

As Leader of the Council, I look forward to delivering three interlinked regeneration projects over the next four years. Collectively, these projects should make a real contribution to raising company profitability and wage packets in East Sussex.

These projects are:

  • the Hastings & Bexhill Five Point Plan, including the expansion of the University Centre Hastings
  • the Newhaven master plan for regeneration
  • the creation of a new commercial and residential centre west of Polegate to include a new local government centre, Parkway station, offices and shops, all to drive forward growth in Hailsham, Eastbourne and Polegate.

I will also be working toward raising standards in schools and better skills training, improving services for older residents to allow them greater independence and more funding and services for our town and parish councils.
