Director of Transport and Environment – Rupert Clubb
As Director of the Transport and Environment Department, Rupert has a wide range of responsibilities affecting our quality of life and how we live, travel and enjoy our local environment. The department helps the Council to plan for and deliver ways to improve and make safe our highway network, plan for local development and protect our natural environment, both in our towns and rural areas.
Areas of responsibility include:
- maintaining the 2,000 miles of roads in East Sussex
- strategic land use and transport planning
- waste management – domestic waste disposal, recycling, etc
- rights of way and countryside management
- enhancing the environment
- influencing public transport integration.
