Chief Executive

Our most senior officer and responsible for all work carried out by the council.

Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Corporate Resources

Supports the work of the Chief Executive and in his capacity as Director of Corporate Resources has overall responsibility for the Council's finances and financial control, for ICT and Electronic-Government and for the management of the Council's property estate.

Director of Children's Services

Responsible for all children's services including schools, social care, special education and childcare, and the leadership of children's trust arrangements with other agencies.

Director of Adult Social Services

Responsible for providing social care to older people and vulnerable adults in East Sussex.

Director of Transport and Environment

Responsible for road, transport planning and the East Sussex environment.

Director of Law and Personnel

Responsible for protecting the council’s legal position and for the personnel and training services of the council.

Director of Policy Management and Communications

Responsibilities include strategic policy and economic development, libraries, community safety and communications.
