Council Plan 2009/10

The Council Plan is divided into chapters which can be downloaded as pdf documents below. It sets out our priorities for the year ahead with clear targets for achievement. We set our targets with reference to our available resources, past performance, public consultations and partnership agreements. It is published in April and updated throughout the year.

Council Business Plan introduction (244k) Introduction by the Leader of the Council and a summary of the context, background and process used to set the Council Business Plan. (16 pages)
Financial Strategy and Budget Summary (677k) Financial summary of the Council’s Revenue Budget for 2009/10, the revenue forecast of Medium Term Financial Challenge, and the Capital Programme. This chapter replaces our annual budget summary for 2009/10 to 2013/14. (32 pages)
Strategic Management and Economic Development chapter (63k) How we intend to improve the economy of the County, management of the Council, communication, consultation, personnel and training, performance management, consumer protection and emergency planning procedures. (7 pages)
Corporate Resources chapter (38k) How we intend to improve the management of our financial and property resources. (4 pages)
Community Services chapter (66k) How we will work to ensure safer communities, provide community leadership, support strategic partnerships, improve library services and promote the electronic delivery of services. (8 pages)
Adult Social Care chapter (50k) How we will work with partners to provide services which promote choice, independence and the well-being of people and their carers including the elderly, those with learning and physical disabilities and those with mental health issues. (5 pages)
Children's Services chapter (73k) Covers our education and schools services and how we will work with partners and local communities to provide effective support to children, young people and families and is supported by the Department for Children's Services. (9 pages)
Transport and Environment chapter (56k) How we plan to improve road safety, travel choices and reduce traffic congestion, the management and reduction of waste, the protection of and access to the countryside and the way in which we promote the interests of East Sussex in the development of new and existing infrastructure. (6 pages)
